Wedding Zen: Keep It Simple
If you want your wedding to go off without a hitch, try to keep everything simple. Take a cue from Asian cultures where simplicity is key to achieving harmony with the surrounding world. Here are some tips to keep your wedding reception a simple, yet elegant, affair.
Don’t have too many different activities going on during the reception. Granted people love variety, but that doesn’t mean you should have 50 different type of orderves being served at the same time.
- You don’t have to go crazy with colors and lights. This way you won’t overwhelm your guests and they’ll be able to focus their attention to speeches and special moments
- Try to bring the focus to the centerpiece of the wedding, your marriage. If you have distractions all over the room people’s eyes will wander from the best man’s speech, to a flashing of a bulb from the photo booth you rented for the reception.
If you cut down on potential interruptions or delegate the proper time when people can get-up and move about during your reception, you could keep everyone’s attention where it needs to be. In the end the wedding is about you and your partner, so if there is a moment you want your guests to witness remove everything that could unintentionally distract them.
